Indian Government has recently started Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana, which aims to train 50,000 youths. This information was given by railway minister Ashwin Vaishnav. According to this scheme govt. will provide skill training to 50,000 youths of far flung areas.
He also stated that the government will establish mobile skill training units to expand our reach into rural areas. This scheme was launched on 17th september 2021 which is a birth date of current PM of India, Narendra modi. Which was a main reason to choose this date for launching this scheme.
The objective of this initiative
The goal of this program is to provide youngsters with training skills in various trades in order to improve their standard of living. To commemorate Prime Minister Modi’s 71st birthday, the Bharatiya Janata Party has launched the “Seva or Samarpan Abhiyan.” And from the 17th of September through the 7th of October, this campaign will be active.
Under this scheme, 50 thousand people will be given training for free. Fitter, Welder, Machining, and Electrician are the four trades that have been determined so far. These four are extremely significant; they are required in every business. The Railways, on the other hand, continue to train people as ex-apprentices and provide them with scholarships.
Indian Railways’ Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) aims to train 50,000 technically skilled youngsters by 2024 through the Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
Training to 50 thousands youths in three years
According to this scheme government will 50 thousands candidates will be trained in three years (2024). A total of 1000 people will be trained at first. Electrician, Welder, Machinist, and Fitter are the four trades for which training will be provided. This will involve a 100-hour basic training session. Zonal Railways and Production Units will add training programs in additional trades based on an assessment of area requests and needs.
Training will be provided free of cost
The training under the Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana 2021 will be free of charge, and trainees will be chosen based on their 10th marks from applications received online through a transparent process.
Eligibility for Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana 2021

However, the participants in the scheme will not be eligible for employment in the railways based on this training. A centralized website will be opened soon for submission of online applications.
An initiative towards self-reliant India
Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana (RKVY) is an effort aimed at making India self-sufficient, and is part of Azadi’s Amrit Mahotsav series. While introducing the scheme, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated that these abilities will be extremely useful in this computerized age. The nicest feature of this, in my opinion, is that the training will be provided in rural places outside major cities.
